Find below the answers to frequently asked questions about our products, their use, and their benefits.
Will applying Bioprotec Herbicide to a lawn with clover have any effect on the grass?
The application of the herbicide may cause a slight yellowing of the grass. This yellowing is temporary and your grass should regain its vigor within 3 weeks or less depending on the season and number of treatments. It is also recommended to mow the lawn 48 hours after treatment.
How often should Bioprotec Herbicide be applied to a lawn with clover?
It is recommended to apply the herbicide every 14 days until the desired level of control is achieved. Clover plants store a lot of energy in their roots, and it is necessary to deplete these reserves to eliminate the clover. Do not forget to fill in the space left by the absence of clover with grass. A light topdressing with overseeding will be sufficient.
Is Bioprotec Herbicide effective on the flowers of clover as well?
The herbicide for clover lawn acts quickly on the flowers. As a result, this could also reduce the presence of stinging insects such as bees and bumblebees.
Do I need to dilute the contents of the 4L refill before using it?
No! The solution is already at its optimal concentration. All you need to do is transfer the contents into your sprayer and you're good to go.
Is Bioprotec Herbicide dangerous for my pet?
Do not worry, citric and lactic acids (the active ingredients of this herbicide) are already present in the food chain for human consumption. When used according to label directions, this product should not pose a significant risk to your pet.
What is the difference between Bioprotec Nem Spring and Bioprotec Nem Regular?
The product Bioprotec Nem Spring is made up of two Canadian strains of nematodes that are more resistant to cold and more vigorous at the beginning of the summer season. These species are Heterorhabditis bacteriophora and Steinernema carpocapsae. This product is recommended for use if you want to apply early in the season or if spring is slow to warm up. They are effective once the soil temperature reaches 10°C.
How do nematodes work? Are multiple applications necessary?
Nematodes are microscopic worms that parasitize the larval stage of certain insects and eventually destroy their host. They pose no risk of bioaccumulation in the environment and are safe for humans, mammals, birds, and other animals. For treating white grubs and crane fly larvae, it is best to apply nematodes in the spring and fall to complete the life cycle. If using nematodes to treat other insects, please refer to the following application schedule:
Can we use a sprayer from another brand to spray nematodes?
The Bioprotec nematode sprayer is specifically designed for use with nematodes. However, if you prefer to use a sprayer that you already have at home, it is generally possible. You just need to ensure a good flow and remove the filter located inside most sprayers.
Are there nematode products that cover a surface area greater than 9000 sq ft?
Yes, we also have concentrated nematode products that are made to cover surfaces ranging from 12,500 sq ft to 50,000 sq ft. These products are available on a clay support. It is recommended to use them with agricultural sprayers and to dilute the product well before use.
